Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Healing While Living Your Life
Rooted in Jewish values of compassion and renewal, our program offers clinical excellence alongside spiritual support to help you build a sustainable foundation for the future.

What is an Intensive Outpatient Program or IOP?
Recovery is a journey, but it doesn't always require stepping away from your daily life entirely. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a structured, supportive environment for individuals seeking recovery from addiction or mental health challenges, while allowing them to maintain their commitments to work, school, and family.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a level of care that sits between full-time residential treatment and traditional weekly therapy. It is designed for individuals who do not require 24-hour medical supervision but still need significant structure and clinical support to maintain sobriety or mental wellness.
Think of IOP as a bridge. It allows you to receive high-level treatment during the day or evening, and then return to the comfort of your own home at night. This "real-world" approach helps you practice the skills you learn in treatment immediately, in your actual environment.
The Benefits of IOP
Why choose an Intensive Outpatient Program? IOP offers distinct advantages for those ready to take the next step in their recovery:
- Real-Time Application: You don't have to wait until discharge to test your new coping skills. You apply what you learn immediately to real-life stressors, relationships, and triggers.
- Flexibility: With day and evening options often available, you can continue to work, attend school, or care for your family while prioritizing your health.
- Community Connection: Isolation is often a driver of addiction. IOP fosters a deep sense of Kehilla (community), connecting you with peers who understand your struggle and support your growth.
- Cost-Effectiveness: Because it does not include the room and board costs associated with residential care, IOP is often a more affordable option and is widely covered by insurance.
- Continuity of Care: For those stepping down from residential treatment, IOP ensures you aren't abruptly left without support, reducing the risk of relapse.

How Does IOP Work?
An evidence-based process for recovery
Our program combines evidence-based clinical therapies with culturally sensitive spiritual support. While every treatment plan is individualized, here is what you can generally expect:
1. Structured Schedule
Participants typically attend programming 3 days per week for approximately 3 hours per session. The duration of the program varies based on individual progress.
Our current IOP program meets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am - Noon.
We currently limit participation in our IOP program to adults ages 18+
2. Clinical Modalities
We utilize proven therapeutic methods to treat the root causes of addiction and mental health disorders, including:
- Torah-Based 12 Step Recovery
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Group Process Therapy
3. The Spiritual Component
We believe that spiritual health is vital to recovery. Our program includes:
- Access to Rabbinical support and spiritual counseling.
- Groups focused on spirituality in recovery.
- Sensitivity to the Jewish calendar, Sabbath, and other religious holidays (no programming on Shabbat).
- You do not have to be Jewish to attend and we honor all faith practices

We strongly encourage family involvement. Addiction affects the whole family unit, and recovery is most successful when the family heals together. We offer family support groups and family therapy sessions as part of the PHP curriculum.
We view relapse as a sign that the treatment plan needs adjustment, not as a moral failure. If a relapse occurs, our clinical team will evaluate your safety and may recommend a temporary higher level of care (like detox or residential) before you return to this level of care.
Your privacy is paramount. We adhere to strict HIPAA confidentiality laws. Unless you sign a release of information specifically allowing us to speak to your employer, we cannot confirm or deny your presence in our program.
In most cases, yes. Because IOP is an evidence-based medical treatment, most major insurance carriers cover it. Our admissions team can verify your benefits for you confidentially.
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is more intensive, often requiring 5 to 6 hours of treatment daily, five days a week. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is less time-intensive (usually 9 hours per week) and is often the next step down after completing a PHP.
No. Our center is a judgment-free zone open to Jews of all backgrounds—secular, reform, conservative, or orthodox—as well as non-Jewish individuals seeking high-quality care. We respect where you are in your spiritual journey.
